Rick McQuaid is a lifelong Norwalk resident. Prior to being elected as Town Clerk for the City of Norwalk in 2011, Rick was employed as a counselor in Norwalk Public Schools for 12 years, as an intervention specialist and also ran a summer camp. His Norwalk roots run deep and he is proud to call Norwalk home and be a part of this community. McQuaid’s political career has taken him from the Planning Commission, on which he served for eight years, to the Common Council, where he served 16 years. He served as Common Council President during a portion of his term on the council and truly enjoyed reaching across the aisle and bringing our city in a positive direction.
Rick lives with his wife, Alice McQuaid, a lawyer specializing in family law. They have three children together, two in high school and one in elementary school. Rick also has three wonderful grown children from a previous marriage.
The McQuaid family will celebrate a summer wedding and a new engagement as well this summer. All the McQuaid kids support DAD!
Rick is cross endorsed by both parties this 2023 election. He is best known for taking every day with a laugh. He is truly a people person and enjoys his work as Town Clerk.
